what is avastin used for
Avastin is used in combination with chemotherapy medication to treat patients with hormone receptor-positive metastatic breast cancer. It works by slowing or stopping the growth of certain breast cancer cells by affecting certain proteins, which prevents them from dividing.
avastin side effects
Avastin is generally safe but may cause an increased risk of low blood pressure, blood clots, tissue injury at the site of injection, wound dehiscence (opening up), and bleeding. These complications occur most often in people with cancer that has spread to other parts of the body.
